"Even if the question is a small need, if you never ask, the answer is always going to be no, because you never had the courage to take that step."

If no one died, it can be fixed

"It means to relax and to think before you react to an accident or situation. Sometimes things get blown out of proportion way too much. If there was no death then it's not THAT important or bad that it can't be fixed, changed or taken care of."

Happiness isn't getting what you want but wanting what you have

"To me, it means that to be happy you have to be happy with what you have and that material things don't make you happy. Some people have everything they could ever want material-wise but are still not truly happy within themselves."

Blessed are we who can laugh at ourselves for we shall never cease to be amused.

"It helps me get some perspective back when I start taking myself too seriously or when I've messed up and am being really hard on myself.

I found this saying at -- of all places -- a garage sale. There was an Asian-style water color of a cat with this saying in calligraphy along side it. It hangs over my desk."

Satisfaction begins when comparison end

"I sometimes have the habit of comparing my life to others. Whether it's that my friends went on a wonderful vacation, someone I know bought a new home or whatever. I need to learn to be happy with what I have. And to remember that I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful healthy boy."

The cure for everything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea

"To get rid of my frustrations, I work up a sweat. When I hurt, I shed tears. To get back to a sense of calm and reality. I either think of, or visit the ocean and all its strength and beauty. Therefore the "salt water" is my cure for living, and I realize where I came from and who made me."

Optimists aren't always happy, but they always think they might be soon

"I found this saying in a magazine. I know the standard saying about the glass half empty or full and I used to say, I'll drink to that. However, I think this saying shows that there is always something positive and good out there, you may just not know it yet. You don't have to be happy all the time to be a satisfied, pleasant person. When something rotten happens, know that it won't be rotten forever there is always tomorrow to be happy again. There is nothing wrong with being sad for a while."

"I think it's a wonderful way to live from day to day. Instead of being down about your situation and waiting for things to get better to be happy and enjoy life, know that God is in control and will take of today and tomorrow. So don't worry, dance and celebrate every day you have."
