"I read this years ago while I was struggling as a single parent. Then and now, it helps me to redirect my thinking when I feel that the load is getting too heavy to bear."

"I heard a story once about a farmer who had a prize donkey who fell in the well and made such a fuss wanting to get out. The well was deep and the farmer felt he had no way to help the donkey out so he decided he would bury the donkey to finally end the crying. The donkey didn't want to be buried so every time the farmer threw a shovel full of dirt down the well, the donkey would shake it off and step on it. The farmer kept shoveling and the donkey kept shaking it off and soon he had stepped on so much dirt he was free of the well!"

"I live my life by this motto. If I don't like what I see or need to do, I think about this and realize I can do it. If it's too hard or a struggle then I remember this and muddle through. If my kids are in need, I pass this thought on to them in hope that they will see that they can do anything that life throws at them for a short span of time."

"It means when you feel there is a problem or something you perceive to be a problem, you should stop, stand back and look with an outside perspective. Usually you'll find what you thought to be a problem, was really something you are able to work through."
