Is there an easy way to convert a standard recipe to the slow cooker method?
As a general rule, if you would cook something for about an hour on the stove top or in a 350 degrees F oven, it will take about eight hours on low or four hours on high in your slow cooker. (Since this is a loose guideline, use a meat thermometer to make sure your dish is fully cooked.) Also, when converting, be sure to reduce the amount of liquid you put into your slow cooker by about half, since it doesnt lose moisture the way a standard pot would.
