A good friend isnt aware that she has stinky breath. How can I gently break it to her?
Gosh, weve all had bad breath at one time or another! But if your friend has a chronic problem, casually bring up the subject during an ordinary chat, suggests etiquette expert Lizzie Post of the Emily Post Institute. In a caring tone, ask your pal, Did you eat garlic or onions today? Want a breath mint? (Be sure to have mints handy!) She should get the hint. Then add: I know Id want to be told if my breath isnt fresh. If she seems open to further talking about it, mention that halitosis could be due to a health issue, so she may want to see her dentist to determine an underlying cause.
