Athlete's Foot: Natural Cure

Treat itchy tootsies with turmeric, an herb that contains curcumin, a natural anti-inflammatory. Mix one part turmeric oil (or ginger oil, if you can’t find turmeric oil) with two parts water, and apply to a clean cloth or cotton ball placed directly on infected area to destroy the fungus. The solution can also reduce pain and swelling caused by bunions on your big toe.

For another natural athlete's foot remedy, add half a cup of white vinegar -- rich in antimicrobial and antifungal ingredients -- to a gallon of water, and soak your feet for five minutes a day until the infection clears (generally in about a week), advises Megan Moore, M.D., a dermatologist in New York City. And don't forget to sprinkle an antifungal powder in your shoes -- or you'll be slipping your feet right back into a fungus-friendly breeding ground!
