A new study from the University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland proves what doctors have long assumed that foot infections such as toenail fungus and athletes foot are readily spread among family members by tiny organisms called dermatophytes. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, the best ways to avoid becoming infected are to wash your feet daily, dry them thoroughly (especially between the toes!), then dust with anti-fungal powder before putting on cotton socks, which absorb sweat.
