For ordinary headaches:
1) Sew an eye pillow filled with dried
lavender and keep it in the freezer. When a headache hits, apply the cold compress to your head. The relaxing scent will also give you relief.
2) Stock up on
fresh produce. Researchers found that women who eat two cups of fresh produce daily have 70 percent fewer headaches. Plant foods are rich in phytonutrients, compounds that reduce inflammation in the brains blood vessels, making them less likely to spasm painfully.
For migraines:
1)
Ice or heat packs may relieve the pressure, but studies show that taking 50 to 75 mg of
butterbur extract twice a day can decrease the number of attacks.
