Eat Your Way to a Smaller Waistline With Shiras Savvy Tips
ID your trigger foods
During her diet, Shira learned that some foods actually cause her to overeat. "I quit drinking Diet Coke," she says. "The caffeine and sweetner spiked my blood sugar and left me feeling hungrierprompting me to head for junk."
Be wary of "diet" foods.
Don't be deceived by labels all food has calories, says Shira. "Just because it's labeled 'diet' doesn't mean you can eat four."
Skip the scale.
"It's easy to get caught up in daily weight fluctuations. I'd get discouraged if I was up a couple pounds. Instead, it's more important how your body feels and looks."
Indulge in daily treats.
Shira eats a Kozy Shack No Sugar Added Rice Pudding with a handful of dried cranberries daily.
"It's easier to say no to other desserts when I know I've got that pudding to look forward to every afternoon," she says.
