"I get on the scale every morning to make sure I didnt gain any weight, or maybe I lost more," says Ricki. The trick is to make sure the number you see is keeping you in check, not driving you crazy. "You want to be well-adjusted and not get too extreme."
Reward Yourself
A job well done deserves a pat on the back or at least Ricki thinks so: "Im buying all new clothes. Im investing in a huge new wardrobe." Just make sure your own reward is not food-related!
Get a Hobby
Food should be used as fuel, not as entertainment or worse, a crutch. "I used to turn to food when I needed comfort, but it hasnt happened this time," says the actress. Instead of reaching for the Oreos when youre feeling anxious, go for a walk, pick up a good book, call a friend or hit a movie.
Cut Back on the Cocktailing
"I may have a glass of wine, thats it," Ricki notes. Cheers to that: A glass of vino contains around 80 calories, while a piña colada packs more than 500 calories a pop.
