My aunt gave me a white, rabbit-shaped glass candy dish, marked with the letters “I” and “G.” Do I have a sweet treat?

— M.B., Warren, Ohio

Glass molds are expensive to manufacture. When a company fails, an existing company will purchase the molds and reuse them, occasionally adding their mark and/or retooling the design. The mold for your dish, likely made between 1955 and 1970, was acquired by the Imperial Glass Corporation, which added its “I” and “G” mark. In collectors’ books, your dish, made of what’s called “milk glass,” is valued between $100 and $150. However, on eBay, the same dish, in pristine condition, goes for $50 to $65. Unfortunately, there is a hairline crack near the hare’s back leg, which reduces its worth. Estimated value: $10 to $15.
