I own a Pillsbury Doughboy figurine. How much dough is he worth?

— R.G. , Brownsville, Tex.

Pillsbury, founded in 1869, introduced molded vinyl squeeze figurines in the early 1970s as part of an advertising campaign. The cute figure was packaged in a Pillsbury can. Most people threw away the can. As a result, a figure still in the can is worth four to five times the value of an individual figure. Because of eBay, the market for Pillsbury figurines is flooded. Without its period packaging, your 1971 model can be purchased for under $5, and often under $3. With period packaging, it would fetch between $20 (SOME OF THE TEXT IS CUT OFF)
