"Find a shoe-polish paste that mimics the color of your table’s finish — or
buy a darker and a lighter color, then mix the shades together on a piece of paper with a cotton-tipped swab until you achieve the desired hue. (Test it first on the inside of the table leg, for example, to make sure it matches.) Apply the polish to the scratch; let dry for 15 minutes before buffing with a clean cloth."
