Rather than thinking you should do it all at once and getting discouraged when you cant, break tasks down into chunks so you can tackle one small thing each day, says Alicia Rockmore, co-founder of Buttoned Up, a company that helps women get organized. She suggests writing each task on a separate scrap of paper. Be specific: Write balance checkbook and pay bills due March 15, not get finances in order. Put all the pieces in a bowl and pick just one daily. Commit to finishing one task before bed, she says. After a week, youll be amazed at what youve accomplished in just minutes each day.
