Forget buying putty and a putty knife if the mark is miniscule. Instead, pull the cotton off the end of a cotton swab. Dab the stick’s end with white toothpaste (not gel) and carefully fill in the hole. If the wall is a dark color, wait several hours to dry and touch up with matching paint.
