Chocolate Malted Cookies

INGREDIENTS conv. chart U.S. Metric

2 cup(s) flour
1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
.5 teaspoon(s) salt
1 cup(s) butter-flavored shortening
1.25 cup(s) (packed) brown sugar
1/2 cup(s) malted milk powder
2 tablespoon(s) chocolate syrup
1 tablespoon(s) vanilla extract
1 large egg
1.5 cup(s) semisweet chocolate chunks
1 cup(s) milk chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line two baking sheets with aluminum foil or parchment. In small bowl, whisk together first three ingredients; set aside. In large bowl with electric mixer, beat next five ingredients for 2 minutes until smooth; beat in egg. Add flour mixture, beating until thoroughly combined. Stir in chocolate chunks and chips.
  2. Scoop batter by heaping tablespoons; roll into 2-inch balls. Place 3 inches apart on prepared baking sheets. Bake 12 to 14 minutes, until golden brown, reversing baking sheets halfway through. Cool 2 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool.
