Good-Dog Treats Mix

Mix Ingredients:

• 3 tablespoon(s) brown sugar
• 3 tablespoon(s) dry chicken gravy mix
• 1 cup(s) nonfat dry milk
• 3 cup(s) whole wheat flour

Treats Ingredients:

• 1 large egg
• .667 cup(s) vegetable oil
• 1 cup(s) warm water

Directions

1. Mix directions: Wash and thoroughly dry a 1-quart, wide-mouth canning jar. Layer the ingredients as level as possible in this order: brown sugar, gravy mix, dry milk and whole wheat flour. Secure the lid and decorate the jar as desired. Be sure to attach the recipe for making the treats.
2. Treats directions: Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Transfer all the jar ingredients to a large bowl and stir until well blended. Add egg, oil and water, and stir ingredients together to form a soft dough.
3. Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 3 minutes. Using a floured rolling pin, roll out dough into a 12-inch square, 1/4 inch thick. Cut dough into 1 1/2" x 2" pieces, or cut out shapes with cookie cutters. Place treats about 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
4. Bake for 20 minutes; turn cookies over and continue to bake another 10 minutes, or until lightly browned on both sides. Allow to cool completely on the baking sheet. Store in an airtight container.
