Hollywood’s Greenest Guy Suggests…

On HGTV’s reality show Living With Ed, actor Ed Begley, Jr., and wife Rachelle Carson clash comically over Ed’s eco-obsessed habits. While you may not be able to run your home on solar power and energy generated by a stationary bike (never mind a windmill — yes, the couple owns one!), you can encourage your family to live in a more eco-friendly fashion by taking small steps, suggests Begley.

If you can get where you need to be without driving, “try leaving your car keys on the dresser just one day a week,” he suggests. Walk, or see if your guy will take a bike ride with you instead of taking the car. “Not only are walking and biking the most energy-efficient forms of ground transportation that man has ever invented, but you just might find you both like it,” he says.
